This month kicked off in great fashion.... with a dinner with the Benson brought to us by FREEdomVision...I could explain, but then I would have to hurt you and I don't want to do that :-)I know I have said this before, but I am really lucky to have them in London especially right now. Its not been an easy few months and having a piece of home here in London has reminded me of why I moved here and what a wonderful city I am in and how lucky I am to have the people that I do in my life :-)

That weekend I travelled up to Chesterfield to be the non-official, official photographer of our dear Noah's Christening. I cannot believe how quickly time is flying by. I feel like he was just born and feel like the last time I travelled up to Chesterfield (for Wib Wedding) was just last week. How time flies by; first there was the housewarming parties for couples moving in together, then the engagement parties, then the hen parties, and then the weddings. Who knew we would be at the time of welcoming little ones and celebrating their momentous days. I am so happy that I went up for the Christening as I got to spend some alone time with the Wibs. We went to a lovely restaurant, pub, hotel and had a great evening. I don't know if we have ever just spent time just us so it was a welcome treat for all. It was my first Christening and how beautiful it was. I love hearing and seeing the traditions of other religions. Truly remarkable the belief, history, and traditions that each religion holds. That and I am fascinated by churches and cathedrals. There is just something calming and peaceful about them. It was a special weekend and one that I will always remember...if nothing else I know now that trains only stop at the platform for 40sec and its best to just get on any carriage than to get on your carriage :-) #AngryFist
This year has been filed with a number of new experiences and the week after the Christening things continued. Getting back out there after you've had your heart broken is a lot easier said than done. Its not easy, especially in the world that we live in. They say that there are plenty of fish in the sea, but I was never a good fisherman. Enough about that. Onto another new and great experience...Night Photography course with my friend Paul from work.We had been talking about taking a course for ages and finally we were able to register for one and fine a time that suited both of our schedules. It was a FREEZING and WINDY night, but I am glad that I went. Each course that I take I learn a new trick or too. We were at a new part of the city so it was nice to take some different landscapes. The weather did not help with trying to take night shots as the wind was moving all of our tripods, but I did learn a neat trick on how to time traffic to take those classic streak shots. We also played around with the ISO, f-stop, etc to adjust the colouring and lighting of photos. As a bonus since it was way too cold out the instructor took us indoors to teach us how to use an external flash to take portrait and indoor shots. That was wicked!! I need to find a proper class or learn to write things down as I forget things way too quickly.
There was no topping the C2C festival experience. It was the weekend that I needed to get my mood back. I am rather fed up with work, but there is nothing new there. I did have it one of the days and had to get out of there. Thankfully it was lunch time so after two Lone Stars and a dozen chicken wings I recomposed myself and went back. Work shouldn't wind me up as much as it does, but what can I say...it does. I just cannot stand some of the things that people say and the lack of desire of those around me to want to do the proper thing. It is shocking what people get away with and how much smokes and mirrors people can hide behind. Its not fair....I realize I know sound like an 8yr old at the playground. Hahaha. Enough about work..
I like being the planner and organizing things, but some times I should not be trusted with such a task. This month I have successfully arrange a movie night at a cinema that was no longer showing the movie (note to self, just because a movie is running one weekend does mean it will be in the cinema the following weekend), To further that, I arranged to meet a new friend for coffee at a coffee shop at closed at 6pm. That wouldn't be an issue if we weren't planning on meeting until 7pm. GO ME! Thankfully third times a charm and instead of a coffee we met for drinks (much better). The month ended as it began...with a dinner extravaganza with the Benson. This time it was off to J Sheeky for some bubbles and oysters. Captain K and I kept ordering oysters and bubbles..how can you not. It was a great evening and despite the fact that I had to go back to work at 9:30 I was pleased to have gotten away for a little while for some great food, drink and laughs. It was just what I needed that night!Oh that grand note...there is not much else to share. So until I write again
Love you and miss you dearly
