Adventures in London: Issues 80-89

I actually wanted a different version of this song, but I could not squeeze all the photos into a 2m34sec video, so this version was used. The song for this video is called "Defying Gravity". It is most known from its feature in the Tony award musical Wicked, and later as the first audition between Kurt & Rachel in Glee.

The song says it all -
Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!

It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!

I'm through accepting limits
''cause someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost!
This version is sung by Idina Menzel. I absolutely love her voice. If you don't know who she is, she is otherwise known playing Elphaba in the original broadway casting of Wicked, Maureen Johnson in RENT (both the original broadway cast and movie), Nancy in Enchanted and has made appearances on Private Practice, Kevin Hill and Glee. Did I mention that she is also married to Taye Diggs.

I hope you enjoy the video! It has been a rather interesting 10 weeks, but what I have learned is that it is time now to try defying gravity :-)
